Details
Zazie Books is a unique independent bookstore specializing in photo books, graphic novels, visual arts, fiction, and essays. Located in Modica, Sicily, the store also serves as a creative space for exhibitions, presentations, workshops, and talks.
As Art Director at Zazie Books, I was responsible for developing and implementing the brand identity, including designing the logo, merchandising, creating internal and external decorations and signage, and producing special visuals for social media channels, events, and exhibitions.
The concept of Zazie Books is inspired by the 1960 French film “Zazie dans le Métro” directed by Louis Malle and the 1959 novel of the same name by Raymond Queneau. Drawing from the film’s whimsical, adventurous spirit, I developed a visual identity that captured the essence of the store’s eclectic collection.

Little Eye
Little Eye is Zazie Books’ official mascot, designed to embody the brand’s identity and values. This cute and quirky character can be found throughout the store, both physically and virtually on social media and the website, serving as a guide to visitors and adding personality to the overall experience.
Little Eye has become an inseparable part of the Zazie Books brand, adding an extra layer of charm with its playful nature and unique design. Whether greeting visitors in-person or appearing on the store’s social media channels, Little Eye embodies the spirit of the bookstore and captures the attention of all who encounter it.
